Message from the Practice Manager

Firstly, thank you all for your support in the last month and the lovely positive and constructive feedback you have sent via Friends and Family texts, letters, and verbally it certainly boosts our morale and helps us improve our services.

We aim to produce the newsletter bi-monthly articles will include:

  • Operational changes in the surgery
  • Updates to our NHS contractual requirements
  • Number of appointments provided and how many patients did not attend
  • Current Health issues
  • Any other general information that may help your health and well being
  • Patient Participation Group update
  • Local groups initiatives
  • National Campaigns

Our local Fylde and Wyre GP Quality Contract has been released this month and the focus for this year is, Frailty, Respiratory and Structured Medication Reviews all of which our pharmacist Alex will outline in the next issue.

The WIN Social Prescribing Team

The WIN social prescribing team offers fortnightly drop in sessions at Poulton Library and Thornton Library.

Here, they are available to offer advice on various issues you may be having or just for a quick chat!

Why not pop in to meet the team and see what they’re all about?

Drop in sessions:

  • 10am to 12pm
  • Poulton Library on the 14th and 28th May 2024
  • Thornton Library on the 21st May 2024
 

COVID Spring Booster

Queensway patients can now use the national booking system to book their covid spring booster vaccine.

We will be providing this as a joint endeavour with local practices at two locations on the 11th May 2024.

May Awareness Month

Make May Purple and Action on Stroke

The month is to raise awareness of Strokes and their impact on sufferers And their friends and families as well as educating the general public on the signs and symptoms of strokes, what causes strokes, what happens during a stroke and what to do in the event of Someone suffering a stroke.

The main theme of the month is wearing Purple to raise sponsorship for the Stroke assoc iation’s work.

Alcohol Free Women’s Group Event

Connection for women who live alcohol free and for those who want to

  • First Saturday of the month 2pm to 3pm at Fleetwood Health and Wellbeing Centre, FY7 6HP
    • Please wait on the red chairs, on ground floor
  • Second Tuesday of the month 6:30pm to 7:30pm at Fleetwood Methodist Church Hall, FY7 8HN
  • First Monday of the month 7pm to 8pm at St Martin and St Hilda Church Hall, FY6 7NU

All groups £6 including refreshments and information of social events. Come along on the day or contact Julie on 07845 041 333 for more information.
