One of the many services we offer at Queensway is microsuction. We can provide microsuctioning for our own NHS patients or can see outside patients on a private self-referral basis.
What is microsuction?
Microsuction is a technique that uses a microscope to view the ear canal and uses suction to suck out the ear wax. This is a gentle and pain-free procedure. Microsuction differs to ear syringing in that ear syringing uses a jet of water to dislodge ear wax.
As with any procedure, there are some very uncommon risks. These risks include:
- minor trauma to the ear canal or ear drum
- perforation of the ear drum
- hearing loss
- tinnitus
- infection
These risks tend to be very small.
Private charges
- £30 for one ear
- £50 for both
If you wish to self-refer to us for private microsuctioning please call our reception team who will be more than happy to help you.
